The goal of the "For Good Vibes - Read Books" project is to foster a reading culture and promote literacy in Split-Dalmatia County. Focusing on youth under 25, individuals over 54, and people with disabilities, it aims to popularize reading. By enhancing literature access, the project reduces social exclusion in these groups.
The project aims to create a safe space for immigrant women, age 25-to 50, inside libraries. Women coming from immigrant backgrounds are often at the receiving end of discrimination and inequality, and they struggle to find recognition and acceptance in the territories they reside in: this reality is particularly true in Italy. The objective of the action plan is to make the following digitally accessible by 2023: 3% of the documentary heritage, 32% of artefacts; 60% of both film and photographic heritage and 28% of printed heritage; i.e. about 33% of our entire cultural heritage. The total cost of the project is €9.02 million, of which €8.19 million will come from the planned European Union structural fund investments.
Region Sörmland has worked with Wikipedia as a tool for creating and sharing knowledge to support the SDGs. Together with the museum of Sörmland the regional library services hired a Wikimedian in Residence. The purpose of this project was to develop how the library services and the regional museum could work together to share their collections and knowledge to free and open repositories such as Wikipedia. In the same vein, Region Sörmland has run a project to improve Swedish language Wikipedia from an LGBTQI perspective by increasing the amount of articles, data, and media resources relating to the topic.
In the BibBl.a project the library development services of Region Jämtland Härjedalen have developed thematic toolkits (one handicraft toolkit, one digital toolkit, one book talk tool kit) which serve as content for local library workshops focused on citizens sharing knowledge, trying out new things, and talking about sustainability from their various points of view.
The goal of the project implemented by Šilutė Fridrich Bajoraitis Public Library is to “recover” young people from the virtual space for direct communication with each other. They integrate into cultural and educational activities, discover the joy of real (not virtual) communication with peers, and can reveal their abilities and creativity. There were 5 different intellectual events organised during the project for young people.
The academy "Integrate yourself" was created in 2020. It is for teens and young persons (12-20 years old) who want to understand the possibilities offered by the modern cultural and socio-cultural environment. During the classes, lecturers are acquainted with design aesthetics, perspectives, programs and their management tools. Individual projects were created with the aim to present each participant, highlighting leisure interests, abilities, experiences with the help of graphic design.
