EBLIDA, PL2030, IFLA, LIBER, NAPLE Forum

On April 24th the five European library organisations – EBLIDA, PL2030, IFLA, LIBER and NAPLE Forum published the Library Manifesto for the upcoming European elections.

Europe’s national library associations have outdone themselves with creative uses of the manifesto in the national, public EU conversations.  The documents are now available in 17 languages. You can find them below.

Today, almost on the eve of the polls opening, we celebrate libraries and democracy by declaring this Tuesday June 4th Library Manifesto Day! Happy voting!

    • Thank you for your question.

The Manifesto has indeed been translated into 17 European languages through the voluntary efforts and were made possible thanks to the dedication and support of individuals and organizations committed to promoting our shared goals.

Unfortunately, we currently do not have a Croatian translation. This is not due to any oversight or lack of recognition of the importance of the Croatian language, but rather due to our reliance on voluntary contributions for translations. At this time, we have not yet received an offer from a volunteer to translate the document into Croatian.

If you or anyone you know would be willing to assist with translating the Manifesto into Croatian, we would be happy to facilitate and publish the translation on our website.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

      EBLIDA

    • Thank you for visiting our page and for your question.

As mentioned in a previous response about the Croatian translation, we rely on volunteers for these translations, and so far, we have not received an offer to translate the Manifesto into Spanish.
If you or someone you know is able to assist, we would be pleased to add the Spanish translation to our website.
